Here at Better Future Financial Planning we believe that every day is a fresh start, a chance to turn your goals and dreams into reality and good financial planning can help with this. This is the ‘why’ we do what we do.

We provide all our clients with independent expert advice covering all the areas relevant to their circumstances and stage of life. This is the ‘what’ we do.

However, we also believe the ‘how’ is important too. We believe it really matters how we treat all the people we deal with inside and outside of our working environment. This underpins our values as a business.

Our values

Clients come first – having worked in a number of businesses before where profit was the main priority, we want to be counter-cultural. Often the hunt for new clients was prioritised over the needs and service of the existing clients. We have all experienced ‘special deals for new customers only’ at some point. We promise that our loyal existing clients will be treated with the priority they should expect. We also offer a loyalty fee discount for longstanding clients.

Kindness – we believe this is the foundation of any successful business – how people relate to each other within the business and those outside of it. We expect our team to deal with everyone with the utmost respect – with each other, with our clients and with the providers we work with. But kindness means also going further than this – it’s about the little unexpected things we do on a daily basis. We hope all our clients will feel this when they deal with us.

Consistent – we want clients to have a consistent service experience over their time spent dealing with us, hopefully for many years. With 49% of the current adviser population expected to retire in the next five years (Investec survey July 2024), many clients will find themselves in a difficult situation. Often the business will be sold meaning the client is appointed a new adviser within a new business with a different culture. While Dave has no plans to retire for at least 15 years, we believe it is important to plan ahead. We plan to build our succession plan within our business, maintaining the client experience and culture for our clients.

We are proud supporters

We are the proud supporters of Sport Legacy Foundation (SLF), a charity ‘Empowering young people in challenging communities to change their lives through education and sport’. SLF help young people to discover what they are amazing at by coaching extra-curricular sport and physical activities in Birmingham, Bradford Leeds and Barbados. Their aim is to make a difference through coaching, creating educational tools combining sport and education and building facilities to improve young people and their communities’ lives – people, resources, spaces.
